Washing Cashmere Socks For Maximum Longevity
If you are the lucky owner of a pair of cashmere socks or other cashmere garment, you'll want to do good care and washing practices to keep them in good shape. You might be tempted to wash them quickly so you can get them back on your feet! However, by following a few easy methods, it is easy to care for cashmere socks.
You may have read the washing requirement label on your pair of socks. Most of the time this label will tell you that the socks are dry-clean only. While it is true that you can dry clean your socks, there is an equally safe and sufficient way to do it at home. Allow them to soak in the water for about 30 minutes, then drain the water into the sink. Refill your bucket with a new contribute of clean water. Now you want to carefully squeeze out the soapy water from the socks. Don't wring or twist the socks, just do a polite squeeze. After you have done this a few times, the soap should be completely removed. If not, keep dipping until it is gone.
Finally, lay the damp socks onto a flat towel for drying. Flatten the socks out to ensure they dry into the right shape and do not become deformed.
